To choose a view, click one of the View buttons at the top of the Finder window. Your settings for sorting and arranging items in a folder apply until you change them. For example, if you sort your Documents folder by Date Added, the next time you view that folder, it’s sorted by Date Added.

In Excel, you can use the Sort function to sort a column and keep rows.

1. Select the column data you want to sort, and then click Data > Sort. See screenshot:

2. In the Sort Warning dialog, keep Expand the selection option checked, and click Sort.

3. In the Sort dialog, specify the criterion that you will sort on and the sorting order. See screenshot:

4. Click OK. Now the selected column has been sorted and the intact rows are still kept.

    'Intact rows' - what is that???
    I can't tell you how incredibly MORE helpful this would be if you had used text in... whatever remained unsorted. As it is I have NO idea what you are trying to illustrate- it's just a jumble of random numbers.
